And though they may not be drinking, they still have that alcoholic change just waiting to be stimulated and create havoc.
A ‘occasional’ alcohol can easily fool you into thinking they’re stable and together as they can go months as well as over a year without touching an individual drop of alcohol. They can seem totally in control, and then they will begin drinking. And since they avoid alcohol for so long, they often lose complete control once they finally do start drinking again which can result in a number of the worst alcoholic habits and incidents imaginable.
The ‘regular’ alcohol isn’t anyone who has realized sobriety but sometimes relapses. An occasional alcoholic for the most part, does not think they’re alcoholic. It is not unusual for a periodic to go months without incident and then just take one drink. This one drink lets the alcoholism loose again for however long it lasts. A ‘periodic’ alcoholic is still the full alcoholic until they do the task to reach constant sobriety and remain in sobriety.
The ‘periodic’ alcohol can be extremely dangerous to themselves and others because when they drink they drink in great quantities that severely affect their ability to function. As oppose to some ‘performing’ alcoholic who frequently gets mildly drunk then sobers around purpose, a ‘occasional’ alcoholic will drink themselves into stupors, unconsciousness, and often even into death. ‘Periodic’ alcoholics usually drink such high volumes that they:
* Become severe
* Make dangerous
* Cause injuries
* Suffer alcohol accumulation
* Suffer liver failure
* Asphyxiate independently vomit, being too drunk to wake up and release
The ‘Periodic’ alcoholic is just a danger to themselves and the others. Though they may seem perfectly healthy and normal to numerous people around them, a ‘occasional’ alcoholic can be quite a ticking time-bomb to another location bout of extreme drinking.
