SAMHSA Awards More Than $33 Million for Substance Abuse Treatment

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) today announced that it is planning to award more than $33 million in funding over the next five years to provide coordinated substance abuse treatment and HIV/AIDS services – especially to traditionally under served communities. These communities include African American, Latino/Hispanic and/or other racial and ethnic minority communities disproportionately affected by the twin epidemics of substance abuse and HIV/AIDS.
