Resolved Question: What Is The Truth About All Drugs.?

My Grandfather told me when i was going into my freshman year in high school that if i would start using drugs it will ruin my life since kids can get their hands on drugs now at that time. But yet people on yahoo answers tell me drugs are okay they tell me they live normal successful lives without problems and they are not bad especially weed.I watch this show intervention and they show what happens to people who did drugs they become true drug addicts who are addicted to methamphetamine, heroin, painkillers, alcohol, crack and cocaine and even seen inhalants on there before. But when these druggies on yahoo answers tell me drugs are okay it shakes my beliefs allot. Police cops also told me they is not 1 person he has ever met that has said drugs were the best decision they have ever made. So Should I believe everything a druggie tells me on here or are they lieing or should i trust me grandfather, teachers, parents and cops about drugs and listen to them saying drugs will ruin your life instead of the druggies and if drugs do ruin your lfie how do they is all about addiction, going to jail or more than that.

Resolved Question: Does this mean my drug addict brother wants to get better?

My brother is 38 years old and has been addicted to heroine, cocaine, and alcohol for 21 years. He has had 5 illigitimate children and signed his rights over to all of them (3 diff women), he spent 7 years in prison for making and selling drugs, and he is now back living with my parents spending every measley paycheck he gets on drugs. He has been a mess since his wife left him in March (their baby son was born 8 weeks early March 7th, spent 3 weeks in NICU, and my brother was so drunk he didnt show up to the birth and only saw the baby once in NICU). I didn’t blame her at all btw. Anyways lately my brother has been obsessed with watching The Cleaner and also Intervention. I even saw him get emotional at one point becuase there was a guy on there with the same addiction. Sometimes the show gets to him and he turns it off and retreats to his room depressed. I always thought he had lost his conscience and that he had never really hit rock bottom per se and that he’d never get clean, because he’d never shown anything to suggest he wanted to get clean. But this makes me rethink that. Is it possible he wants to get better?

Voting Question: Is there anyone who has recovered from being a drug addict? I need help.?

My friend is an addict – drugs (marijuana, cocaine) and alcohol. I have tried everything to help him – got him into residential rehab, connected him with support groups, continue to support him. He wants to stop, but he is always out of work (not a lot of jobs, so does temporary ones), then he loses his place to live, has no money – I am getting so frustrated, but I don’t want to give up on him. He has a kind heart and his addictions came from his upbringing, so he never had a chance at having a real life. He tries, then slips backwards again and I feel like I am losing him. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Resolved Question: Whats more addictive most of street drugs or masturbation (along with pornography)?

Pornography addicts have a more difficult time recovering from their addiction than cocaine addicts, since coke users can get the drug out of their system, but pornographic images stay in the brain forever, Layden said.

Jeffrey Satinover, a psychiatrist and advisor to the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality echoed Layden’s concern about the internet and the somatic effects of pornography.

“Pornography really does, unlike other addictions, biologically cause direct release of the most perfect addictive substance,” Satinover said. “That is, it causes masturbation, which causes release of the naturally occurring opioids. It does what heroin can’t do, in effect.”
