What makes it so addictive to you, or is it. Just please tell me your story on your addiction or even if you have done it once tell me how you felt about it, did you want to do it again but found it too addicting or could you control it.

Thank You for your help.

Open Question: Serious life or death situation please PLEASE help me with this guy? ?

Ok this is long but i am begging you, if you are a rational person who has made smart decisions, help me. It would mean so much.

So basically i met this guy and he is a really messed up person, like he is a druggie and has had an entirely messed up life so far.. He was adopted and beat by his parents all his life and when he reached 14 years of age he started doing all sorts of drugs. He has done everything, from cocaine to heroine, he has done it all. He has been to jail, stolen for his addictions, lived on the street for years when he was just a teen, gone to rehab six times and lost nine of his close friends in the past couple of years only to drugs, even his very best friend. Even his close family and friends say there is nothing anyone can do for him. But i fell in love with him and he has too and he is ADDICTED and HAS A SERIOUS PROBLEM and even admits it but won’t get help because he doesn’t believe in rehab since it never worked for him. He only believes in drugs because he says that no matter what they will be the only SURE THING to stay FOREVER in his life. Basically, he is addicted and really messed up. He says he wants to die and find peace because he is sick of life and stuff… He says he will FOR SURE die of drugs because that is how he has always been. He wants to die. Literally. And i just do not have a clue what to do for him. I have tried so hard. Now the questions….

What can i do??
Can i do anything at all??
If so, what? What can i do or say or please just give me any advice….
He is pulling me down under but he does NOT mean it…
I just don’t know how to find the strength to do anything….
PLEASE anyone help?

Most of all be serious….

Thanks so much :’/

Open Question: HELP! how do I stop my friend before she gets a cocaine addiction?!?

my friend started doing coke July 2008, since then she’s done it about 10 times, So it really hasn’t become too big of a problem… YET. the only advice I can find is people saying let her hit rock bottom and stuff like that. shes only 16 and shes only been doing it for a few months and I don’t want to see her go through that. Is there something I can do before she gets too bad and really has a bad addiction?

she says she doesn’t have a problem and can stop whenever she wants. she gets mad whenever I tell her to stop. me and my friend really want her to. she’s not in denial.. she relizes its affecting her relationships ( lost a friend), and she knows how bad it is. what can i tell her? and what should I do??

also her parents found some coke in her room and now she goes to meetings for coke addicts, but she said she didn’t feel like she belonged there and it didn’t help whatso ever(everyone was in there 30′s+ and totally brain dead)

ALSO ( don’t beat me up about this:( .. but we’re kinda stoner buddies. does she have to quit weed to quit coke? because I would be willing to stop smoking weed(with her) completely.

how do I stop my friend before she gets a cocaine addiction?!?

thanks guys!

Voting Question: Dad is trying to get out of back child support with my mom… what are the legalities?

When I was 11 and my brother was 15, my parents finalized their divorce. At the time, my dad was working at American Airlines and making decent money. The court based his child support on his income there (though I still feel it was not enough, but that’s not the issue). My mom was also awarded his pension in the divorce.

My dad had always been an alcoholic (the reason for my mom kicking him out), and shortly after leaving our house, he began using crack cocaine. It became a huge addiction and he lost his job because of it about six months after the divorce. He never took the time to go to the court to let them know that his income had changed, so they kept him at the rate they had given him while he was with American Airlines. He did not pay child support for a long time. He has paid about $32,000 in total, and still officially owes about $43,000 in back child support. Has has recovered from his addiction and remarried, and has been paying my mom about $200 per month for the back child support.

My mom just received a letter from an attorney my dad hired. He is not suing her or taking official legal action, but the letter asked that she consider giving him back his pension and calling it even on the child support. Basically, my dad is saying that he was not making the kind of money he was when the child support amount was ordered, so he should not have to pay what he still owes.

He made an itemized list of all the child support payments he’s ever made, but he included things that were taken as gifts to me and my brother at the time, such as helping me with a semester of college tuition, helping me pay to fix my car, etc. There’s more to the story, though. He got an apartment after my mom kicked him out. When he made his security deposit, my parents were not officially divorced yet, so he used a credit card that was in both of their names. When the DID get divorced, he was supposed to be held accountable for their credit cards and half of my brother’s and my medical bills, and he never paid either. When he got evicted from the apartment, the four months’ past rent and security deposit were charged to the credit card. My mom ended up paying for it because she didn’t want her credit to be ruined. The apartment complex also sent a collection agency after him. Their car, which was awarded to my mom in the divorce was still in both of their names according to Ford, so the car ended up being impounded. My mom had to pay $2,500 to get it out of impound because it was the only car we had.

My mom could have easily put him in jail for nonpayment of child support many times. He also broke into our house on a few occasions to take money to support his drug habit. We have no proof of this, but we found money missing (including from my piggy bank, when I was 12), and our neighbor told us that she had seen him coming in the window while we were gone. My mom never took any action because she didn’t want to put me and my brother through more trauma than we’d already been through.

I’ve already called him and told him that he is no longer invited to my wedding (I am now 22, my brother 26) and that I will no longer speak to him if he tries to take legal action against my mother for this crap. My mom paid for our house, a car, school supplies, the credit cards and medical bills HE was supposed to pay for, our sports equipment, food, Christmases and birthdays, EVERYTHING. But that’s beside the point.

My question is this: does he have any ground to stand on here? Will the court see that his income changed and be able to let the rest of his back child support slide, or will they say that it’s too bad and that it’s his own fault for being too cracked out and lazy to come to court and tell them of his change of income? My mom doesn’t know what to do and cannot afford to hire a lawyer. She is in deep debt because of all the things my dad never paid for. I just want to at least have an idea of what he has the right to do, and what she can do to counteract any kind of crap he might try to pull. Help!

Thank you so much to anyone who can give us advice.

Voting Question: 10 myths about sex… But do you agree?

What do you think to these???

******************
1. Singles have more sex than married people.
Contrary to popular belief, it’s married people who have more fun. According to Linda J. Waite and Maggie Gallagher’s The Case for Marriage, approximately 40 percent of married people have sex twice a week, compared with only 20 to 25 percent of singles and cohabitating couples.

2. Men think about sex every seven seconds.
As it turns out, this is fiction, too. According to a 1994 “Sex in America” survey, 54 percent of men think about sex every day or several times a day, 43 percent think about it a few times a week or month, and 4 percent think about it less than once a month.

3. Women are naturally more monogamous than men.
Although it’s difficult to prove or disprove, researchers believe this popular assumption is more a matter of perception and socialization than biology. As they point out, in most mammalian species, both the males and females are highly, and equally, promiscuous.

4. Pornography is an addictive substance.
Some people view porn as a harmless pastime, while others see it as a health hazard. Either way, most scientists agree that although it’s possible to become addicted to pornography, the addiction is behavioral, much like an addiction to gambling. Porn itself is not an addictive substance in the category of heroin or cocaine.

5. Herbal aphrodisiacs can enhance your sex life.
Ginger, coriander, or cardamom can enhance a host of recipes, but sadly, they won’t succeed in spicing up your sex life. A review by the FDA revealed that no purported aphrodisiac has ever been scientifically proven to increase sex drive. And some, like Spanish Fly, can even be potentially dangerous.

6. Sex during pregnancy will hurt the baby.
Believe it or not, sex is perfectly safe during the vast majority of pregnancies. In fact, most couples can keep having sex until the woman’s water breaks. However, there are cases in which sex should be avoided, so be sure to talk to your doctor if you have any concerns.

7. Women can’t get pregnant during their period.
Couples who believe this myth may be in for a big surprise. According to a 2000 study conducted by the National Institute of Environmental Sciences, at least 2 percent of women enter their fertile period only 4 days into their menstrual cycle, and 17 percent enter it by the seventh day. Sperm can live for up to five days, so this myth has likely resulted in many unplanned pregnancies.

8. Sex the night before an athletic event will ruin your performance.
Although some coaches and athletes advocate abstinence the night before competitions, scientists are quick to point out that there’s no evidence to support this myth. In fact, 2000 study published in the Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness reported that sex had “no detrimental influence on the maximal workload achieved or on the athletes’ mental concentration.”

9. Talking to kids about sex will encourage them to have sex.
It might be uncomfortable or a little embarrassing, but talking to children about sex doesn’t encourage them to have it. According to the American Academy of Child Adolescent Psychiatry, open communication helps kids to make healthy and appropriate decisions regarding their sexual behavior.

10. Men and women can’t be friends because the sex part always gets in the way.
A study published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships found that men and women can indeed have platonic relationships. The researchers, who tracked 20 pairs of friends, confirmed that “friendship attraction”–a connection devoid of lust–between the genders is a bona-fide bond.
