Open Question: What are the symptoms of Cocaine addiction?
Open Question: What can I do? Please help!?
Okay, so here’s my situation. I’m 16, my mom and dad are divorced, but live in the same house, I live with them. My dad smokes weed and drinks everyday from when he wakes up til he goes to bed. My mom is a hardcore druggy, mostly cocaine and meth. My dad does anything to make me happy, and he takes care of my besides his addictions and lack of father daughter relationship. My mom on the other hand is gone all the time and she doesn’t want anything to do with me. We are always going to lose our house and everything but they don’t care until they’re about to come take it and that’s when they get worried. My mom doesn’t spend any time with me and its like she hates me. I really hate her.People say its just because I’m a teenager and whatever but with all she has put me through and still puts me through, I hate her with everything I have. She stays gone at my uncle’s bar all the time when she is home from her job. (she dries a semi truck) They expect me to get good grades and stuff in school and keep a straight head on my shoulders but it is so hard when I have all this to come home to! I hate my life so bad! I’m always sad and I’m not happy like someone my age should be. I don’t drink or do drugs. (Which is a good thing) But I also never go out with my friends and stuff because I can never take my mind off of what is going on at home! Please help me! What can I do?
Open Question: Is it possible to get my friend help?
I have a friend who is just going down hill. For the sake of this question, I will refer to him as Eric. I have known Eric for years. He has always been a pot head. Last year, I heard that he was getting into cocaine. A friend of mine and I had attempted to intervene. This intervention led to his mother discovering a baggie of cocaine in his room.
Any way, it seems he has overdosed on heroin and ended up in the hospital. I am very concerned about this person. I have not hung out with him for quite sometime because I don’t want to be adversely influenced by him, but I want him to get help. I talked to him today and he was completely in denial of his problem. It was like I was arguing with the addiction as opposed to him personally. I feel that the only way he would ever get help would be if it had the force of law behind it.
My question is really. Should I speak to him probation officer and try to get him so help or would he most likely just end up in jail? Would it be morally wrong to speak to his PO behind his back? What if it made the difference between his life or death?
Resolved Question: Why is marijuana a schedule I drug while cocaine is schedule II?
Schedule 1 being the highest schedule of drug, why would marijuana be in the worst category and cocaine be below that (schedule II)? Cocaine is physically addictive and very dangerous to the human body. While one Marijuana joint causes about as much harm to the user as two cigarettes does, and it’s impossible to OD on thc (tetrahydrocannabinol). Is it fair that a marijuana user should be penalized more harshly that an actual hard drug user? The DEA classifies a schedule 1 drug as a drug that creates a high dependency and has no current use in modern medicine. Marijuana is directly used today as a medicine (hence the term “Medical Marijuana”). This is not something that is derived from Marijuana but the unprocessed drug in it’s most basic form where there is chance no physical addiction. Cocaine on the other hand is highly physically addictive and the substance has no direct medical purpose (granted it’s derivatives do {ie. novacain}) but the direct substance isn’t used in medicine. First, Marijuana shouldn’t be illegal and furthermore it shouldn’t be classified in the highest Scheduling of drug, this hypocrisy should be met with the resounding cry “leaglize it!”

Resolved Question: Have you ever tried Cocaine, how addictive was it to you?
OK, I’m not going to do it I just want to make that clear, I am writing a paper on addicting drugs and why they are so addicting, I want to know from people who have done Cocaine, how often did you do it, or still do it, do you consider yourself to have and addictive personallity and did you or do you consider yourself to be addicted to it. What makes it so addictive to you, or is it. Just please tell me your story on your addiction or even if you have done it once tell me how you felt about it, did you want to do it again but found it too addicting or could you control it.
This is probably the only drug I don’t have any kind of expirence on as far as knowing someone who has done it alot. And please include as much info as possible this has to be a really long paper, lots of info.
